In the fall of 2009 two friends were at a church camp out for father and sons and were sitting around a campfire talking and eventually got chatting about their jobs. Both work in printing and marketing and work with many small to medium businesses on a daily basis. As they discussed the challenges that those businesses face, and consequently how those challenges affected them in their support roles to small business. They recognized that one of the weakest areas for many small businesses is planning, as they discussed the challenges they realized that there was an opportunity to create tools and information channels that could be of great benefit to small business. While the internet has tons of information available, there was not a clear refining of that information for small business. The two friends realized that together they had some unique skills to bring together to potentially create a product and business to help small businesses succeed! They got to work and in 2010 released their first product that trains small business on the basics of creating a viable business plan, beginning with market and business analysis, mission and vision statements, creating goals and objectives and finally an introduction to financial statements. In the Summer of 2010 they brought another partner and friend in to help round out their company. The following is a short biography of each of the partners and the skills they bring to the table.

Dale Bohman

Dale Bohman

Dale has worked in printing and marketing since his senior year in high school when he took a job doing old school layout and paste up for a small printing company. At 19 he served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Finland and speaks fluent Finnish! He later came to manage that same printing company he started with while he completed a degree in accounting at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is now the General Manager and one of the owners of a PIP Printing & Marketing franchise in Kissimmee, Florida. Dale’s store was recognized as the National Franchisee of the year in 2008 and also in that same year name Small Business of the Year by the local Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, 2007 and 2008 he was also awarded the franchise Southeast Regional salesperson of the year and has done several presentations to the PIP Printing network nationally. Dale has always been heavily involved in the companies sales and working directly with his customers to help them grow their businesses and be successful. It has been in this role that he has observed many small businesses struggling and recognized that while their owners had great primary skills in their business or trade, they had never received training in business management. Based on his experience in running his own company and observing the struggles of other businesses, Dale created a large amount of the content of the Business Plan course and teaches the lessons. Dale also has a marketing blog that can be found at www.PIPMarketing.com and you can see his company’s website at www.PIPMarketingGroup.com. He is happily married to his wife of 23 years and has 3 sons, and is also actively involved in the Boy Scouts and is an Eagle Scout himself.
